MOVE! is BYTE’s intensive anti-violence workshop. Each session involves youth in talking about topics like gender stereotyping, safe partying, anti-bullying, and equality.

​Funds from United Way Yukon are supporting weekly group counselling, anger management, communication and stress management for approximately 50 regular clients.

Funding assists people with disabilities to become active in the community, learn real job skills and enter the job market. Coach assists approximately nine adults cleaning the Millennium Trail.

Training for Parents

Funding provides for a minimum of 4 training sessions for 32-48 parent and caregivers of children with special needs using the Handle with Care program focusing on speech and mental health. 

Community Mentoring Program - Whitehorse, Watson Lake and Dawson City
Mentoring Project

The funding supports a volunteer recruitment and the mentor-ship program which provides mentors that teach by example the benefits of giving back and of respect.

Inclusive Community Lunch Program provides for hot lunches for up to ten people daily.  The Out and About Program provides support to attend activities and if needed, programming for evenings and weekends. Our goal is to improve quality of life and promote mental wellness through inclusion, engagement and education.

Purchase of wheeled walkers, adult two-wheeled walkers, junior two-wheeled walkers and wheelchairs will elevating leg rests, all of which are available for use in all Yukon communities where required.

Therapeutic Riding Program

Funding supports the wages and contract fees for instructors to deliver a therapeutic and recreational horseback riding program for people with physical and intellectual disabilities.

Funding assists in the provision of camps for children with learning difficulties. Literacy tutoring is included with wilderness activities.

Community Kitchen, Mothering Your Baby & Parent-Child Mother Goose Programs


United Way Yukon funding is supporting the community kitchen, a low barrier weekend evening drop in program for women to eat and support one another. Funds from United Way Yukon are also supporting the Centre's Parent Child Mother Goose and Mothering your Baby 1st Year programs for new moms.
