2020 United Way Breakfast
Friday, September 11th
7 to 11 am | Shipyards Park, Whitehorse
UPDATE: The Yukon government-organized United Way Breakfast was a tremendous success. As of Friday noon, a total of $16,747 was raised -- $14,455 from ticket sales and $2,292 from donations. A final total will not be available until after September 18th, when the online silent auction closes. The annual breakfast is the biggest fundraiser for the United Way and is made possible only by the efforts of a huge team of people. Thank you, everyone!
Join us for breakfast and #ShowYourLocalLove! Our theme is particularly important this year – we want to encourage Yukoners to support local businesses and our fellow citizens, respect and protect each other, and follow the Safe 6. This breakfast fundraiser is about Yukoners helping one another. All money raised stays in Yukon. Working together Yukoners can help people receive the support they need to live healthy and productive lives.
This year we’ve got a new location, a new menu, new partnerships, a new format … but the same Local Love Yukoners are known for!
We’re hosting breakfast at Shipyards Park in downtown Whitehorse. We have partnered with the Yukon Chef Collective to create a delicious and nutritious Breakfast Bag to go. The collective is a non-profit foundation, comprised of Whitehorse-based chefs who have raised donations from Yukoners, and now receive funding from the Food Bank Society of Whitehorse to provide healthy, nourishing meals to Whitehorse and its surrounding communities.
Your Breakfast Bag will include a hot huevos rancheros wrap (bacon is optional), fruit, pastry, juice and coffee or tea.
We hope you can join us for this annual fund raising event and #ShowYourLocalLove!
Breakfast: Featuring a lot of Local Love!
The Yukon Chef Collective's is proud and always diligent to use the best of local ingredients, wherever possible. Even when it comes to breakfast, the main staple in our breakfast wraps will be purely from our region. For the United Way breakfast will be showcasing free range and Yukon grown Little Red Hen Eggs from Mandalay Farm. As well as YBAR’s (Yukon Born & Raised) signature, locally cured and smoked bacon. Pasture raised pork, dry cured and hot smoked using local hardwoods including whiskey barrel staves from Yukon Brewing.
The Huevos Rancheros Wraps (large flour tortilla) will be filled with eggs, crumbled bacon (if you choose), shredded cheddar cheese, potato hashbrown and salsa (tomato, jalapeño, onion, vinegar, garlic, salt, pepper, citric acid). Fruit, pastry, juice and coffee or tea is included! **Contains gluten & dairy. Not vegan.

Show Your Local Love
Like previous years, we’re also offering you an opportunity to #ShowYourLocalLove by donating a breakfast to someone in need. All breakfasts donations will be delivered to the Whitehorse Food Bank.
New for 2020
We’re inviting work units, companies and organizations to purchase breakfast for your team … no matter how big or small! This year, you can place a “Group Order” ($15/breakfast) and either pick it up at our Drive-Through or, if you order 10 breakfasts or more, one of our Celebrity Servers will deliver it to your downtown Whitehorse office location for a $5 fee. Group Orders must be purchased before Thursday, September 10, 2020.
Ticket prices are a little higher than before. This is a year when community support is needed more than ever. During COVID-19 the needs for aid and support in our community have increased. Please help us meet these needs and help ensure we can take care of fellow Yukoners.
All proceeds go to Yukon families, youth and kids in need.
This year's silent auction will take place online. The auction begins at 7 am on September 11, 2020 and close on September 18, 2020. The link to the 2020 United Way Breakfast Silent Auction site is now LIVE -- use the green button.
